The Port of Seattle chapter of the National Management Association (NMA) is hosting their annual speech contest for high school students.

Compete for a trip to Orlando!

 

1st Place Wins:

  • Entry into the NMA National High School Speech Contest to be held in Orlando, Florida. The NMA National Conference will be held September 25-28, 2024, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlanda. The Speech Contest will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
  • $300 cash prize.
  • Roundtrip flights for winner and a chaperone to Orlando, Florida.
  • Hotel for winner & chaperone for 3 nights in Orlando, Florida (September 27-30, 2024).
  • Per diem of $50 per day during the stay at Orlando, Florida.
  • Two 1-day passes to an Orlando amusement park of winner's choice to be used during the trip.
  • $150 to use for food & transportation during the 1-day trip to the Orlando amusement park.
  • Port of Seattle NMA Chapter's Speech Contest Winner must be able to attend the Orlando Final of the NMA Speech Contest to redeem prize package listed above.

2nd Place Wins:

  • $150 cash prize.

Contest Dates

  • May 2024: NMA Chapter contest. Exact date and venue to be announced but will be in Seattle or Tukwila areas.
  • September 27-30, 2024: Winner will compete in the national competition in Orlando, Fl. 

Application Requirements

  • Reside in King, Snohomish, Pierce, or Kitsap Counties.
  • Currently in grades 9-12 (home schoolers allowed).

How to Enter

  1. Read the Contest Rules. Pay particular attention to Section G: The Port of Seattle's NMA Chapter Specific Rules.
  2. Submit your Student Entry Form by March 31, 2024.
  3. Submit your Consent and Acknowledgement of Risk Form by March 31, 2024.
  4. Submit the draft of your speech by April 15, 2024.
