Commission to Hold Second Hearing on Airport Job Quality, Workforce Development

On Tuesday, the Port of Seattle Commission will hold its second hearing on job quality and workforce development opportunities for workers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The commission continues to develop a policy to promote quality jobs at Sea-Tac, explore what other jurisdictions are doing and what results these policies have achieved.

Next week’s hearing will be dedicated to reviewing employment and wage information on the workforce at Sea-Tac Airport, as well as learning more about job quality and workforce development policies adopted by several other public airports around the country.

Presenters at the hearing will include Bill Wong and Cathy Widener from San Francisco International Airport and Adine Forman from the Hospitality Training Academy in Los Angeles, as well as leaders from Sea-Tac Airport and the port’s Office of Social Responsibility.

The hearing will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at the Port of Seattle Commission Chambers, Pier 69, 2711 Alaskan Way. The hearing will be streamed live at:
