October 28th is a National day to recognize the bravery and sacrifice of the Nation’s first responders.
When emergencies strike, these men and women are always there to help. There is a classic adage that says ‘the hero runs towards danger while others run away’. This is the core of first responders. Every day first responders remain on alert and on call for long hours, they spend time away from their families, and continually show commitment to the community. As we celebrate, we also honor the memory of those we have lost. We celebrate the first responders in our lives today and those who paved the way before.
