Please join us in congratulating our fire departments 2019 “Firefighter of the Year” Michael Harguess. Firefighter Harguess is a dedicated, motivated individual who is very passionate about this fire department and his fellow firefighters. Many of the nominations regarding Mike, reference his continued desire to improve not only his own knowledge and skills, but his shifts as well. Firefighter Harguess was also recognized for his assistance in helping Captain Hendrickx identify and select the necessary replacement Hazmat equipment as well as leading and motivating others in daily workouts and being a role model to many on A shift. Due to current restrictions, Firefighter Harguess’s award ceremony will take place at a later date in 2021 in which we will also recognize 2020’s Firefighter of the Year.
