Port of Seattle Fire Department is ringing in the new year with new faces. We welcome two new firefighters that have laterally transferred from other departments and later this month five new firefighters will be brought on board to fill vacant positions.
Firefighter Brandon LaValla was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington. He spent eight years as a firefighter on active duty with the Air Force and was eager to move back to the northwest.
Firefighter Jamie Steinbacher also served in the Air Force, with six years of active duty and three as a reservist. He comes to us from the Enumclaw Fire Department.
They are both busy training and we look forward to having them on shift.
