The Port of Seattle Fire Department’s Diversity Association collaborated with Tally High School to bring awareness and educate the youth in our community. The outreach began when Captain Franklin Smith attended a college and career fair on their campus earlier this year.
Because hands-on experience is often the best way to determine if you’d be good at a job or not, the students were invited to the Port of Seattle Fire Department to see the firefighters in action. Captain Smith and Firefighter Schmitt provided the visiting students with a full tour and answered questions about a career in the fire service.
