Time for FAA 139 Required Live Fire Training!
Port of Seattle Firefighters are completing required live fire training this May. The crews practice the tactical and practical skills associated with aircraft fire and rescue. Because many of these drills require live fire and special facilities, the Port of Seattle Fire Department works with an FAA funded training facility at DFW in Texas.
In an intense few days, the crews put together all the individual skills they work on year-round to perform tasks to simulate aircraft emergencies with full size mock ups and live fires. This experience is not only an FAA requirement, but is vital experience for personnel. Please check out photos from the latest training in our gallery!
