Once an employee has sought medical treatment for a work related injury, a work release is required.
- If a Job Analysis (JA) is available, the injured employee should take it to their initial doctor appointment and have it reviewed and completed. Please ensure both a full duty and light duty job analysis is taken for review and completion.
- The job analysis provides the physician a description of the essential functions of the job. The physician reviews this documentation to determine if the employee is able to work with or without an accommodation.
- If no Job Analysis (JA) is available, the injured employee must obtain a work release from their attending physician. A valid work release must be dated, signed and specific.
