The Port of Seattle Commission appreciates the careful consideration and thoughtful comments by all Seattle City Councilmembers during the deliberations around the SODO arena and street vacation. The public interest is served by vigorous debate among all parties on these important issues.
The Commission, however, condemns the personal attacks and misogynistic comments aimed at members of the City Council. Hateful comments have no place in our society today and in civil discourse in our community.
We call on all those who have made such comments to reconsider and offer apologies to the City Councilmembers.
