Holiday Gift Guide from SEA

December 7, 2020

Let’s just admit that the 2020 holiday season is … well … weird. And that’s prompting many families to change their expectations of home for the holidays. Govenor Jay Inslee issued a travel advisory for Washington state that asks residents to stay close to home and recommends a 14-day quarantine for travel.

Holiday travel guide

If you’re making a list and checking it twice while considering a trip that can't wait, explore our holiday travel guide to be informed and ready with travel tips and resources. We are increasing our public information campaign from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and asking you to come prepared to comply with healthy travel measures.

From required face coverings and physical distancing to updated protocols with airport dining and retail, it’s our highest priority to help keep you healthy. We also believe it’s possible to create merry moments and festive fêtes for you at the airport.

Eat and Shop

As part of that, eat and shop with confidence because airport restaurants and retailers are going above and beyond to protect your health and well-being. At the same time, businesses at the airport are hurting with traveler volumes that are down 65 percent from the same time last year.

If you are taking an essential trip this month, consider supporting our restaurants and retailer while at the airport. They are cooking up seasonal cheer with special holiday flavors with to-go food and beverage options.

Moreover, retail shops are operating at 25 percent occupancy to honor physical distancing. While not full of people, they are full of products from the Pacific Northwest and around the globe that make wonderful holiday gifts. These are just some we're loving this season!

Locally owned Chalo on Concourse C has super fun bags, pouches, and stickers with illustrated scenes from around Seattle that pack neatly into your carry-on. There is also a fun collection of unique and clever face masks.

Right next door is Show Pony Boutique with amazing yet affordable jewelry collections that are handmade by local artisans. The Daly Bird line focuses on different leather textures and colors that are light weight but designed with an urban, luxe feel. The M.Liz jewelry line reflects the beauty of natural elements, and each piece is handmade to produce exceptional pieces of wearable art.

Seattle Chocolate on Concourse C has chocolate bars and truffles galore. And they taste as good as they look because the packaging is so pretty!

The only retail location for Seattle’s Sub Pop Records is at SEA Airport! Stop by for the music lover on your list to snag Nirvana “Bleach,” a 20th anniversary double-LP of Nirvana’s debut album remastered from the original tapes. We’re also into the 500-piece puzzle.

Local and woman-owned owned Fireworks Gallery in Central Terminal has a wide variety of cool gifts whether you’re shopping for an outdoors and adventure seeker, home chef, or fashionista. If the Queen’s Gambit has you feeling inspired, you’ll love the Pendleton travel-ready roll-up games for chess.

Planewear at the beginning of Concourse D helps us remember what we love about travel, that the journey matters as much as the destination. If you're feeling nostalgic, head here for apparel, accessories and gifts inspired by the golden age of flying.

ExOfficio at the beginning of the B Concourse is the must-stop shop for travel and outdoor clothing. Marmot fleece jackets and pullovers will warm you up if you’re headed for a winter destination. If you’re bound for somewhere sunny, grab a wide-brimmed hat with built-in 50 SPF.

While most travelers stop by Floret on Concourse A for an oat milk latte and chia seed pudding, we love their selection of specialty and exclusive gifts. You look radishing tee shirts and stickers, San Juan Island Sea Salt, and Stumptown Coffee Roasters are all Pacific Northwest finds. Immunity salve with blend of fortifying essential oils seems like a very 2020 stocking stuffer to us.

The New Stand at the N Gates is an amazing shop for locally made goods and treats. The fact that they carry four different types of smoked salmon is all you need to know.
